KID'S PROGRAM
The River To River Festival and The Drawing Center present THE BIG DRAW featuring HOPSCOTCH by J MANDLE PERFORMANCE September 6 11:00 am - 4:00 pm WFC Plaza
How can elements of hopscotch be used as aesthetic tools to create cultural impact? This question shaped Mandle’s project HOPSCOTCH, premiering at The Drawing Center’s The Big Draw event. Using signature Chalk Shoes used in Chalk Shoes to the High Line, Hustle, and Kalch, Mandle will engage the public in a large-scale, outdoor game and collaborative drawing. Looking to the French iteration of hopscotch, Escargot, performers will create overlapping spirals to play the game upon. Employing the vocabulary of Hopscotch, the drawing intends to allow for a meditation on notions of “safety” and “home.”

Fall 2008 MUSICA SACRA NEW SOUNDS LIVE November 18
7:00 pm
WFC Winter Garden
Formed in 1954, Musica Sacra performs from a choral repertoire spanning five centuries, singing works both familiar and rare. For this New Sounds Live concert, the ensemble, conducted by Kent Tritle, presents two contemporary classics: Morton Feldman’s nearly-mystical choral piece Rothko Chapel, and Arvo Pärt’s genuinely mystical interpretation of the Stabat Mater.
